CITY COUNCIL VACANCY

The City will soon have a vacancy on Council. Unfortunately, long-time resident and councilperson Joe Averdick is moving out of the city and will no longer be eligible to serve on council. Joe has been a very valuable and respected member of Council, and a great friend to the residents and businesses of Fort Wright. His departure will leave very large shoes to fill and we are sorry to see him go. On behalf of myself, Council, the Mayor and Staff, we wish him the very best of luck in his future endeavors and will be celebrating his Council service in the near future. More information will follow for that event.

We now need to fill Joe's unexpired term which ends on December 31st, 2018, and in accordance with Kentucky law on filling council vacancies that occur during a two-year term in office, the City is accepting letters of interest from residents who wish to serve our community as a member of Council. If you have been a resident for Fort Wright for more than one year, are qualified to vote to in Kentucky, are over the age of 18, intend to remain as a resident of the city through 2018 and have a desire to serve the community please consider submitting a letter of interest for this opportunity.
