In researching her family history, Rebecca Lindsay became interested in the struggles of Mennonites and “other people of peace” during the Civil War. Her research describes their fascinating history as they struggled to remain people of peace under tremendous pressure from both the Union and Confederacy in the Shenandoah River Valley of western Virginia. Join us for a powerful historical story.

A Powerpoint presentation will be given with questions and answers afterward.

Rebecca Lindsay is past president of the Kentucky State Poetry Society and current editor of their Journal Pegasus. She has published articles and poetry about the Civil War and her ancestors. A past Moderator of the Cincinnati Presbytery she lives in Crestview Hills, Kentucky with her husband and cat.
